Wat Chaiwatthanaram

Wat Chaiwatthanaram is a riverside temple ruin on the western bank of the Chao Phraya River in Ayutthaya. Built in 1630 during the reign of King Prasat Thong, it served as a royal temple. A tall central prang, smaller surrounding towers, and the remains of connecting galleries create a distinctive Khmer-influenced architectural layout. The arrangement of the structures is a major part of the site's visual appeal. Visitors come to explore the historic temple grounds, appreciate the brickwork and symmetry, and photograph the ruins against the riverside setting.
