ElephantsWorld
ElephantsWorld is an elephant sanctuary outside Kanchanaburi, established in 2008 to care for old, injured and rescued elephants. Many of its animals previously worked in logging or trekking camps, or were used for street begging. The sanctuary's focus is the animals' daily care and the individual needs that come with their different histories. Guided visits introduce visitors to the elephants through observation and care-related activities. Depending on the programme and the animals' needs, visitors may help prepare food, feed the elephants or accompany supervised mud and river activities. The setting offers a chance to learn about Asian elephants while seeing how their food and daily routines are managed. Activities vary rather than following an identical sequence on every visit.
